On this day ,75 years ago ,my dad ,Geoffrey Brown , in his role as Officer in The Royal Navy , navigated a boat full of servicemen ,across the English Channel , landing on Utah Beach .
He never spoke of what happened next .

I had no idea your dad was part of D- day. What a hellhole of an experience that would have been for him. Xxxx
We forget these things but I bet he never did. He probably thought about it every day of his life. His silence on the matter was dignified and caring. He saw no point in sharing such horror. Hats off to Geoffrey Brown!
