Yotam tells me it is a herb with long green leaves and a thyme like flavour and it grows along the slopes of the Syrian-Lebanese mountains .
But as it’s impossible to buy it here he suggested you make your own blend with… roasted sesame seeds, oregano,marjoram, sumac, salt and cumin .
Which i have dutifully done to go in my onion,chick-pea and goat’s cheese salad
PS. What’s it like on/in a croissant?
emmm, well, I like my croissant sweet not savoury so not a big hit with me. I’ll bring you some back!
